Ode to Chicken Wings: Tailgating Central

What a delicious dish…Chicken Wings!

BBQ chicken wingsThey can be prepared in a myriad of ways & paired with any number of dips & sauces.

The standard BBQ or Buffalo wings, while very tasty, leads us to expand our horizons by customizing the original recipes to something more for those adventurous palates out there.

Chicken wings were considered to be the most inexpensive part of the chicken & frugal cooks would be most likely to entertain the idea of serving chicken wings. Now, not only have they become more expensive, but a much more desirable product to utilize in present day cookery.

Today’s trend seems to be toward such delicious wing recipes that include some of our favorite ethnic flavor combinations from around the globe, such as tandoori, General Tso, Cajun, Southwest chipotle, or jerk chicken wings. We have learned to adapt these great recipes and infuse our chicken wings.

Another great trend & easy way to serve wings is to bake or deep fry them as usual and simply season with salt & pepper, supplying a plethora of dipping sauces to appease our taste buds.

How to Bake Biryani Chicken Wings - cookingwithkimberly.comTailgating parties, like for Super Bowl, today will often have chicken wings available with such flavorful sauces as hot sauce, BBQ, tahini, lemon, curry, Sriracha, honey garlic, Italian marinara, harissa, soy & wasabi.

Try wings cooked in different ways and create yourself a chicken wing bar of sorts – baked, BBQ, deep fried or pan fried.

Although they all appeal to me, my favorite is the most simple, very lightly dredged in flour, baked or pan fried with salt & pepper, and served with a Ranch style dipping sauce, but I am also fond of Kimberly’s Biryani Chicken Wings, which are intensely flavorful – a taste & aroma you will never forget!

My ideal Super Bowl foods would include a couple of different platters of chicken wings, 2 kinds of pizza, pot-sticker dumplings, sausage puffs, a pot pie, a pot of chili, and a huge casserole of mac & cheese. That should cover everything!
