Café de Gelée avec Crème Fouetté:

Making your own jelly or jello out of any of the your favorite liquids creates interest & it’s plain fun to do! In this recipe, I’m a gelatin brand called Knox Gelatine.

However, use whatever gelatin brand you have available to you.

Chill Time: 30 – 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • coffee beans1 pkg Knox Gelatine – can set up 2 cups liquid
  • 1/4 cup hot brewed coffee
  • 1/4 cup cooled coffee
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened coffee – as desired
  • 3 tsp sugar – optional; for sweetening coffee

Rim Ingredients:

  • 2 – 3 tbsp sugar – for rimming
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder – for rimming

  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • remaining sugar & cocoa powder – mixture from rim

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1/4 cup brewed coffee. Have ready 1/4 cup cooled brewed coffee.
  2. Prepare 1 1/2 cups coffee to a preferred sweetness.
  3. Prepare three serving glasses by dipping rims in coffee & coating in sugar mixed with cocoa powder, in a small, shallow dish. Sit glasses to the side to set, while preparing the dessert.
  4. Sprinkle gelatin over cool coffee & whisk to combine & start to dissolve.
  5. Add hot coffee to mixture & continue whisking to dissolve gelatin completely.
  6. Add remaining 1 1/2 cups coffee (sweetened), and stir to combine.
  7. Pour prepared gelatin mixture into serving glasses, equally.
    • Note: Do not disturb rims.
  8. Café de Gelée avec Crème Fouetté - cookingwithkimberly.comRefrigerate, until gelatin has set – about 30 minutes.
  9. To make topping, whip whipping cream halfway, in a mixing bowl using a
    hand mixer, before adding sugar & cocoa powder.
  10. Add sugar & cocoa powder mixture, and finish whipping just to a stiff peak.
  11. Once coffee gelatin has set, top with chocolate whipped cream & serve cold!
