It’s the perfect snack, but you could add it to your baking recipes, like cookies or bars, soak it to make a mincemeat-style filling for tarts or pie, use it as a topping for yogurt, ice cream or salad. Try adding it to a side dish like rice or quinoa, or throw a handful into the blender with your smoothie!

For this recipe, I’m using some great products from Tiger Nuts USA. Firstly, you have to check out their Raw Premium Organic Sliced Tiger Nuts. If you have ever tried to slice or chop tiger nuts before, you’ll understand – it is not a simple task. Let them do the work for you – you can thank me later!

Video: Nut-Free Tropical Tiger Nuts Trail Mix (Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-Free)
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup soy nuts
- 3 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup puffed rice
- 1/2 cup puffed millet
- 3/4 cup sliced tiger nuts
- 1 cup whole tiger nuts
- 1/3 cup dried plantain
- 1/3 cup dried kiwi
- 1/3 cup dried mango
- 1/3 cup dried pineapple
- 1/2 cup dried pink grapefruit
- 2 tbsp candied ginger – minced
Instructions:
- Cut dried fruit into bite-sized pieces, as needed.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Stir to combine ingredients, evenly.
- Store in a sealed container, in a cool, dry, dark place.
