Happy National Rice Month!
Rice is my favorite main dish or accompaniment to any meals prepared in my kitchen.
It comes in many different types…long & short grains, Basmati, Jasmine & Arborio for risottos, as well as oriental suitable for sticky rice, as used in rolls or sushi…
…or maybe in the form of rice papers or rice vinegar. Oh the possibilities!
Rice salads are a perfect addition to a summer feast & rice loves to be served along with fish.
Rice cookers make it so quick & easy to cook rice to perfection. Minute rices aren’t my favorites out there, but they do serve a purpose in a pinch, with reasonable results.
A real winning dessert in our family has been rice pudding, as my daughters have matured, they have each found their own way of making rice pudding.
Fried Rice & Paella are both delicious and very worthwhile for one to perfect their own recipes.
A wonderful food!
