If you didn’t know, I also coach sports: softball/baseball, track & field, gymnastics, conditioning, etc!
One of my pitchers, Larissa Rowdon, had an amazing season, helped her team win a spot in Nationals in Prince Edward Island, Canada after a stellar show in Provincials.
Her and her awesome parents were so sweet and brought me home a gift from Nationals…a Prince Edward Island t-shirt, which I love; and since they too know I’m a tea addict, they brought me some specialty teas from P.E.I. too made from their local ingredients.
Not only did they get me tea, but a sampling of 4 different types of tea from Anne of Green Gables Chocolates in Avonlea Village: Wild Blueberry, Summer Raspberry, Island Strawberry & Canadian Maple.
A great, big shout-out to the Rowdons! I love trying new gourmet treats…perfect gift idea! So appreciated & I love it. Thank you so much!
The first tea I tried was the Wild Blueberry made from organic blueberries from Prince Edward Island.
First off, the smell when you crack open the sealed bag is unbelievable. It is so fragrant and almost perfumed with that wild blueberry.
The teas are all black, and they are in tea bag form.
Here’s how to brew black tea bags with fruit.
Type: Tea Recipe
Serve With: sugar or honey, if desired.
Prep Time: 1 min
Steep/Brew Time: 5 mins
Yield: 8 oz cup (32 oz teapot, if desired)
* The ingredients & instructions are listed below the video for measurements & directions. Please enjoy the video below.
Ingredients:
- 1 Wild Blueberry black tea bag
- ~ 32 oz. boiling water – filtered, if desired.
- sugar/honey – * optional
Instructions:
- Boil water on the stove or in a kettle, preferably with filtered water.
- Once it has boiled, you may use the full boiled water temperature because you are brewing black tea, and will not “scorch” the tea leaves like if you were using a green tea or Oolong, for example. Pour hot water over tea bag in a tea pot.
- Allow tea bag to steep for 5 minutes, after which the black tea can turn bitter.
- After 5 minutes, remove tea bag.
- Sweeten, if desired.
I promise you will love this tea, if you try it.
