Ever Tried These Black Licorice Candies?: Good & Plenty Day

Good & Plenty Day is here, and if you don’t know what they are, well, it’s a box of deliciously flavored, candy coated licorice.

Good & PlentyOnce you’ve tasted them, you’ll look forward to the next box.

Inside each candy is a small piece of soft, black liquorice. The only way I will eat black licorice is if it’s in a Good & Plenty, which is chewy & softer than the long Twizzlers of black licorice, sold alongside its red cousins at the candy counter.

The licorice in a Good & Plenty box is covered with a whole spectrum of colored candy coating. It is just sugary enough to dispel any bitterness from the black licorice. The colors also represent various flavors in its candy coating.

When you eat the first one, you think, “Okay. This is pretty good.” The 2nd tastes slightly different encouraging you to take the 3rd. From there on, you will likely continue til they are all gone.

Try them! I think you’ll like them, and as they advertise…”Good & Plenty – plenty good!”

Good & Plenty Day deserves a trip to the corner store to purchase a box of these black licorice treats!
