Royal Command Gumbo File is a serious find up here in my parts.

Unable to find gumbo file in our supermarkets here in Niagara, we must either order it online, have friends mail us some, or hope that going over the border to NY state, you may find some.

We use gumbo file in a lot of Southern recipes, especially those originating from Louisiana – those Cajun & Creole favorites.

Soups like gumbos, and stuffings benefit from the use of gumbo file.

If you ever wondered what sassafras is, that’s what gumbo file is made of.
