This kale is so green & crispy – you can tell it is ultra fresh. Being green, it is packed with nutrition and you can easily include it in any soup or stew. As well, you can serve it as a cooked side dish.
I got this beautiful kale at Harvest Barn Country Market in Niagara-on-the-Lake. They have another location in St. Catharines, here in southern Ontario.

In this way, they support our local farmers and businesses, and the produce doesn’t travel exceedingly long distances before it finally reaches the market and our tables.
The produce can be harvested when it is ripe and at its highest nutritional value, instead of being picked when it is still green. Also the produce isn’t subject to the bruising and damage that it would, if it had to travel a long way to get to the market.
