It’s National Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie Day

Strawberry Rhubarb PieUSA (COOKING WITH KIMBERLY NEWS) – Nothing says summer time like Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie, and I suppose I’m not the only one who thinks so.

Today is National Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie Day in the United States.

That sweet, tangy goodness is really something serious paired with vanilla ice cream, and a gorgeous flaky pie crust like your mama used to make!

Strawberries are in serious supply currently, and as we speak, the rhubarb is growing almost out of control in the garden outside the window.

Rhubarb is an often-overlooked ingredient that simply screams summer and reminds many of their youth.

When it comes to rhubarb, either you love it or you hate it. The strawberries cut the tart, tangy nature rhubarb provides, which many love, but the berries make it more palatable for those people who don’t enjoy tart foods.

As explained earlier, be sure to serve with a gorgeous scoop of vanilla ice cream, and it will be the perfect accompaniment on a hot summer day as this.

Enjoy!
