USA (COOKING NEWS) – What could sound better than National Chocolate Eclair Day?
Not many things, right?
Well, that’s what the United States felt when they decided to make June 22nd National Chocolate Eclair Day!
With all of it’s fluffy, fried goodness, then stuff with delicious whipped cream and topped with a chocolate coating, often with extra drizzle on the top.
Many kids from my generation will remember these in every donut store in town, but nowadays, they are getting harder and harder to find. Sometimes, other versions of this dessert are called Long Johns, or Bow Ties.
They are available in more of the specialty pastry shops and bakeries around, which makes them of higher quality, but also increases their delicious price. Rightly so, however, as they are originally a specialty French pastry that had lost it’s glamor.
Either way you look at it, you just can’t resist these bad boys, and that’s why June 22nd celebrates these tasty tidbits.
Enjoy one today!
