How to Use Apple Tea in Your Health & Beauty Regimen

Ginger Lemon Iced Tea - http://CookingWithKimberly.comHave you had your apple today? Keeps the doctor away, right? Certainly, we all know that this fruit is one jam-packed with healthy goodness. Also, it is one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world, as it grows well in many climates. From the celebrity to the average person, apples have been benefiting overall health & strengthening of the immune system, as well as for beauty & skin care alike, especially in Apple Tea.

Kurdish tea, also called Turkish Tea, is considered the national staple drink in Turkey, and is popular in Turkish-speaking countries. This tea, or more specifically a tisane, is a mixture of black tea leaves and apple, sometimes combined with other flavor enhancers – i.e. apple, even rosehip, etc. This apple tea is served alongside meals, and is enjoyed warm in the winter, and iced in the summertime.

Apple tea has catechin & quercetin, which are antioxidants that fight free radicals & fight diseases such as cancer. Minerals like magnesium, sodium and potassium are present, as well as amino acids, and vitamins B, C & E.

If that’s not enough, apple tea has been touted to help fight arthritis & other inflammatory diseases, as well as assisting with lowering bad cholesterol levels.

When it comes to achieving beautiful, radiant skin, apple tea has been used as a sunscreen. It’s actually very easy to do. Simply use 1 tbsp apple tea, applying it to your skin 15 minutes prior to showering. Rinse your skin as usual. This is a natural and inexpensive alternative to commercial sunscreens.

Applying the apple tea to your face on oily T-zone locations will keep you more oil-free, especially during the summer.

Grab yourself a great apple tea, or create your own with black tea leaves & freshly cut pieces of apple, or use dried apples when steeping the tea. Either way will be delicious, and you’ll scoop up some of those health & beauty benefits while you’re at it.
