Delights of Fall Appetizers to Tickle Your Taste Buds

Fig DiagramWhat could be more of an appealing treat to your Fall taste buds than the fantastic cornucopia of hearty root vegetables, late Summer and Autumn fruits available for  Fall Appetizers.

Combined with stick-to-your-bones accompaniments like dark breads, substantive meats and strong cheeses, this is a feast for all senses.

The colors of Fall present such a wide range of hues to tickle the senses whether they pertain to the edible colors or backgrounds for presentation of the bounty that is Fall…

Still remembering the lingering days of Summer and anticipating lazy, early days of September. The cooler Autumnal windblown days of October will soon follow into cold days of Winter – that’s a whole other blog post.

The Fall harvest has had a whole season to absorb intense flavors and goodness. We get the best of it!

Beautiful figs will be ripe very shortly and imagine a lovely tapenade of figs served on a long tray together with rye toasts, or hearty seeded bread medallions…a treat for the palate and the senses.

Imagine turnip rounds layered with chevre cheese presented on a bed of radicchio. Wow!

There is no end to the possibilities of Fall-type appetizers incorporating the flavors of Autumn with late season veggies & fruit with delicious & filling meats of your choice. This can be a true culinary adventure.

Surround yourself with the riotous, deep colors of Fall. Fill yourself with the comfort of complex & intense layers of flavors built into your dishes.

I could, and will go on and on over a series of Fall appetizer blog posts…
