When I was in Dallas in December last year, we often have a man that comes around with his wife’s amazing Mexican dishes to sell for breakfast or lunch.
Usually, he has 3 different kinds of homemade gorditas for us, but…
…This particular time, we got 1 dozen homemade tamales, which were the best I have ever eaten in my life by the way, and he always has really interesting drinks and sodas that we don’t find in stores.
This time, I opted for the Barrilitos brand pineapple soda, and I am so glad I did!
This soda, although artificially flavored, is so refreshing and so flavorful…nothing like other sodas I’ve had in the past.
Barrilitos sodas are products of Mexico (en Espagnol – “hecho en Mexico”) and they were established in 1938.
I just love looking through his coolers to find yet another gem in the rough!
Try it, you’ll love it! Guaranteed!

Where did you find Barrilitos? Can you give me his name? Thanks!

I’m really not sure of our guy’s name…
He comes by our job sites at the properties we’re fixing up, and he always brings us either gorditas or tamales made fresh from home, and a big cooler of Barrilitos sodas – we had an apple and a pineapple the other day.
I’ve also seen a few ice cream guys pushing carts around with Mexican sodas and ice cream popsicles that had Barrilitos…
Sorry, I couldn’t be of more help…I’ll see what I can do to wrangle up his name or something for you…
Kimberly 🙂
