Acobay for Cooking & Restaurant Reviews

December 30, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

I came across a website today called “Acobay”…

Basically, it’s a consumer network for product and service reviews…It’s awesome!

I beefed up their Restaurant Reviews section a little for everyone…LOL

It’s a really neat site…You can see others interested in products and services you are in your “network”.

You can add anything you would like to review…magazines, restaurants, products, services online…I’ve even seen and commented on someone that reviewed “Mexican food” and how much they love it! Awesome!

Let’s show the whole world how serious foodies are about food and everything food related!

…Not to mention getting awesome information on all kinds of products before you buy them, or putting your own 2¢ in on things you like too!

You can even add things to your Wish List of things you’d like to buy, use or leave a review about. You can comment and reply to discussion threads already started.

* Tip: By the way, you need to add an item to your Wish List by clicking on the gift box in order to reply to discussion threads or comment, unless you add a new topic or review by clicking on the Read more

Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Reserve Sparkling Wine for New Year’s

December 30, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

My husband was such a sweetheart yesterday morning.

Before I had even woken up, he had made his trip to the grocery store and purchased all of his necessities for making my mother and me a spectacular brunch meal.

He made us smoked salmon and chive omelets, but snazzed it up a few more notches with sparkling wine…

He brought home a really delicious sparkling wine, not champagne – as only sparkling wine from Champagne, France may be actually labelled “champagne” – everything else is sparkling wine.

It was a 2006 Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Reserve Sparkling Wine – Méthode Cuve Close from right here in our Niagara Region – one of the most amazing Read more

Ever Tried to Cook in the Dark While Camping?

December 28, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

LOL…I have and my husband has!  This can be very frustrating and very difficult.

However, what is it that you need to make things easier? Light!

If you’re going camping and want to eat something warm at night, you’ll need something better than the light of the fire, most likely, unless you’re cooking hot dogs and marshmallows on a stick.

The thing is, even though I’m camping, I expect to eat deliciously and eat well!

I don’t know about you, but it’s a pet peeve of mine to work or cook in the dark…

So, what’s a SIMPLE solution? Not a light with a generator and all of that business…

A flashlight will do…However, not just ANY flashlight will work, as many of them don’t have a great “reach” or brightness to them.

What’s my solution?
Well, what people that you know have the best flashlights for their profession? Police Officers and the Military!

So, how do you get a flashlight worthy of a police officer using?
You can get Surefire Flashlights that are of premium quality and Read more

New Jersey Food Attractions

December 28, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

My hubby and I have been wanting to go to visit New York City, but will probably stay over in a really great place in Jersey and then take the train in and not worry about parking.

However, while we are in Jersey, we might as well take in their sites, sounds, smells and tastes too! Maybe enjoy a Jersey Shore beach Vacation while we’re at it!

As a foodie, I’m always looking to where we can eat something amazing wherever we go…something different and unique to that area.

What have I found in New Jersey?

Not only have I found you a plethora of food finds, but I’ve also found you a deal to go along with it.

I looked up Morey’s Piers Amusement Park – apparently, one of the best attractions in New Jersey and one of the best water parks in New Jersey.

Who doesn’t love amusement park food? I love to eat amazing funnel cakes, cotton candy, foot-long hot dogs, corn dogs, fresh-squeezed lemonade, handmade pretzels, bloomin’ onions, caramel corn, waffles and ice cream, and candy apples…Yeah, we’ll be busy!

If you’re not into all that “junk food” like we are, you can sit on a patio on the beach and eat at Jumbo’s Seafood Grill or Curley’s Fries and have their famous Read more

He explains how he loves to make ginger ale ice cubes for his Crown Royal on the rocks. What an amazing idea!
