Moving? You Need Pizza!
October 5, 2009 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment

Why is that every time you are moving, you just HAVE to pick up a pizza? LOL…
Not only did we move this past week, but we also helped one of our friends move too…
Pizza was in both equations! LOL…
If you order pizza, and don’t make it at home, where do you like to order it from?
In Dallas, we love Mr. Jim’s Pizza, Pizza Hut or every now and again, Papa John’s because it’s about 1 block from where we lived.
However, when we make pizza at home, I prefer pita pizzas – not only are they Read more

National Cheesecake Day Rocked!
July 31, 2009 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
Kenney and I made it out to The Cheesecake Factory in Dallas off Northwest Highway to celebrate National Cheesecake Day.
It was amazing!
Not only was the cheesecake really delicious, but the slices were 1/2 off on July 30th.
What Kind of Cheesecake Did We Eat?
It was a tough choice for us…there are so many amazing flavors they have there.
What…with the Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake that looked awesome and had great reviews…Plus, for every slice sold, The Cheesecake Factory donates 25 cents to Feed the Hungry in the USA.
Okay…no more suspense…Kenney had the Banana Cream Cheesecake complete with fresh bananas and Bavarian cream custard all topped with fluffy whipped cream.
I went more classic in my taste with the Read more

Philly Connection – Philly Cheesesteak Restaurant Review
July 17, 2009 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
Okay…Delicious, Superb, Tasty, Wow…
…All of these words can describe the Philly Cheesesteak my hubby picked up for me this afternoon in Dallas, Texas from Philly Connection.
Apparently, they’re a franchised chain, so there are a number of locations, but the one we went to was:
Philly Connection
6334 Gaston Ave., Dallas, Texas, 75214
Phone: (214) 828-9070
We had a Philly Cheesesteak with grilled onions and mushrooms.
It was marvelous – large enough to satisfy your hunger, tasty enough to make you come back again, and delicious enough to order over and over.
Ooey, gooey cheese with lots of thinly sliced steak.
My biggest pet peeve is Read more

Oooh, Ahhh – Organic Chocolate Truffles
November 30, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
As many of you know, I’m not a person that eats sweets often…I’m more of a pasta and potato-craver myself…LOL
However, if there’s something sweet around that’s worth those calories, I’m happy to enjoy it!
Just is the case with the Central Market Organics Chocolate Truffles imported from France.
They are actually USDA organic, but that’s not what makes them awesome…
I don’t understand why truffles are typically only seen during the Holidays…they’re often not readily available. They should be!
Why?

October 8, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
You have heard me sing the praises of The Blue Goose Mexican Cantina’s food…Unbelievable!
Whenever I go somewhere I’ve had something amazing to eat, I almost always order the same thing…Why try to fix something that’s not broken?
However, we went to the Blue Goose just to eat an appetizer and have some Happy Hour Margaritas…
We ordered the Steak Nachos…
Hold On…These were thee Read more

Central Market – Store Review
While visiting Dallas this time, I finally got the privilege to visit Central Market.
Central Market is a whole-foods, organic-type grocery store/market. That’s a mouthful, right?
Well, it is. Not only does it have the prettiest, cleanest, freshest & healthiest-looking produce I’ve seen in quite some time, it is sooo much more.
The store is filled with fantastic & “obscure”, mom & pap’s-type organic brands of every kind. The store is aisle after aisle of new, different and tasty-looking foods.
Where we first walked in they have a self-serve area where you can pack your own freshly made, organic beauty products, including bath salts, facial masks, lotions, soaps and the list goes on…
Okay, let’s talk about their selection of meat, fish and poultry…Wow…as far as the eye can see down an entire side of the market. Meat of Read more

Two Guys From Italy – Dallas, Texas – Restaurant Review
July 20, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
We experienced the Italian cuisine from a restaurant in Dallas called “Two Guys From Italy”.
As you know, we are Italian food freaks, and love to try new places out. We loved that their motto is “Our English She’s No Good…But Our Food Speak More Better“…LOL…
We had the Lasagna with meat sauce and sauteed mushrooms. I am really picky about my tomato sauce, and this one was A+ in my books…just like homemade…Wonderful flavor. The lasagna itself was fantastic too!
I always love soup, so we tried the Minestrone soup, and let me tell you, it really tasted homemade. Great veggies in it, that even I wouldn’t have expected, but that went very well…like broccoli. The integrity of the minestrone was stellar!
All in all, we were extremely satisfied and happily surprised at how great this little find was. Very reasonable prices (lasagna was $8.45 + $1.45 extra for the mushrooms, and minestrone was $1.45).
Well, the next time you’re in Dallas, and want a nice little authentic Italian place to pop into to eat, check out:
Two Guys From Italy located @: 11637 Webb Chapel Rd., Dallas, TX, (972) 247-6814.

Blue Goose Cantina – Best Mexican Food in Dallas – Restaurant Review
July 16, 2008 by Kimberly · Leave a Comment
If you’re looking for some amazing Mexican food in Dallas, Texas, you need look no further than the Blue Goose.
From my understanding, they have 3 locations in Dallas, but we have been to the Addison location on Midway Road.
Wow Wow Wow! Try their Beef Brisket tacos…served with fresh cilantro, au jus, Mexican rice and refried beans…I get this EVERY TIME! I keep looking on the menu for something that I would want more and always fall back on these babies!
Kenney, this last time, got a sampler…God Bless him…LOL!
It consisted of a Blue Goose tamale (Wowie…too good!), a Chicken Enchilada with Salsa Verde sauce (OMGoodness) and a tostada (really fresh and simple), served with Mexican rice and refried beans.
Their refried beans alone are worth the trip! Yum! Salsa verde rocks…the best I’ve had!
They also serve some great freshly made salsa with hot corn tortilla chips! Yummy!!!
Best of all, if this wasn’t enough, they have THEE BEST Margaritas I have ever had…EVER! I am a serious Margarita lover, so this is definitely saying a lot! They run $2 Margarita specials from Monday – Friday! Check it out!
We have always been impressed and completely satisfied and satiated when we leave! It is also very reasonably priced!
If you’re craving some serious Mexican, check out the Blue Goose Cantina!

Seafood Shack in Dallas – Restaurant Review
Okay, Kenney just brought me take-out on his way home from a place called “Seafood Shack” in Dallas.
He’d never been there before, but decided to give it a chance. Kenney actually brought me home 1/2 dozen fresh oysters on the half shell packed in ice. I have never experienced oysters on the half shell for take-out.
They were extremely fresh, not fishy at all, and came with all the fixins, key limes, hot sauce, horseradish and ketchup (not sure who eats ketchup with them though).
The seafood gumbo was okay, a little salty to my taste. The fried catfish was okay too…
However, if ever you are looking to surprise someone and bring home freshly shucked oysters on the 1/2 shell, check out the “Seafood Shack” in Dallas on Webb Chapel, South of I-635.
