There are endless flavors, including many with jasmine green tea, lily flower,

What is My Favorite Australian Fruit? The dark purple passion fruit! Before I lived in Australia, I had never seen the likes of a passion fruit, let alone tasted a freshly ripened one. Honest to Goodness…it’s the most delicious fruit I’ve ever eaten! Literally, we had so many of them, as there were passion fruit plants all around the backyard where I lived. I could just go outside and pick [ Read More ]

What was my very favorite thing I ate when I was in Australia? If I was pinned down to have to answer this, I would say it was the calamari! I’d never had calamari any differently than the breaded and fried version, as you would get at Olive Garden here in America. They don’t make it like this in Aussieland, unless you go to a fish & chips shop…No, No, [ Read More ]

We polished off a 50 gram bag of Black Currant tea from Teaopia this week! It’s really delicious! It has a base of hibiscus, apple pieces and rose-hip peels…Then, it has elderberries, black currant leaves and black currants, and vanilla. Now, I love black currant, any currant for that matter (we grow them in our garden)…Many people find them bitter or say they taste sort of like soap or perfume…LOL… [ Read More ]

I know many of us bake with Manuka honey, which comes from bees that harvest their pollen from Manuka bushes in New Zealand. It has a richer, more floral and earthy aroma and flavor, which gives it a more specialized taste than “regular” honey you get in your grocery store, like Billy Bee brand, for instance. I use it in my tea, on toast with peanut butter! It’s great for [ Read More ]

I have a funny story that just happened this past week. My mother made me some homemade chicken soup after I had surgery. I mentioned to her that I thought the rice she put in the soup was nice. She was absolutely certain that she had put barley in the soup, not rice. However, being the “foodie” that I am…LOL…, I knew it was rice by the taste and the [ Read More ]
